Ovacik is a stunning green mountain resort, although it doesn't have its own beach or close sea views. However, the famous Oludeniz, aka Blue Lagoon, is just a 10-minute dolmus journey away. It boasts a long curving stretch of sand and pebble beach that hooks around to the beautiful Blue Lagoon, where you can find several laid-back private beaches, and if you are lucky enough, you might be witness to one of the many beach weddings that are held around the lagoon. Another lesser-known beach a little further away is the sublime Gemiler Beach, located through the ancient ghost town of Kayakoy and down a steep winding mountain road, stopping off halfway down to admire the stunning views over the local St.Nicholas Island.

Ovacik is a peaceful resort, closely neighboured by the ever-popular busy resort of Hisaronu, primarily residential with luxury private villas, modern apartment complexes, and some smaller family-run hotels. It has two main roads, one a little busier than the other. Still, both have a good selection of relaxing restaurants and bars and local shops offering a laid-back atmosphere. The busier one also hosts several supermarkets for all of your grocery requirements.

Ovacik is next to the trendy resort of Hisaronu, with the mountains of Babadag and Mendes in the background. The Ovacik resort of Fethiye is mostly quiet in the daytime as most tourists choose to relax by their pool or head off to the Oludeniz or Gemiler beaches.
